Is an ADV helmet necessary for off roading?

it is good to have two helmets, because the "ADV,Off road" helmet will get dusty, inside and out, so it's nice to have another clean helmet for street ridding.
I like modulars so Schuberth C3 for street, and Scorpion EXO-AT950 for Off road

you can remove the "peak" if you wish (the only complain on EXO-AT950 is the "inside drop down tinted visor" is NOT optically perfect towards the top, so I don't use it since I wear photosensitive/transition prescription glasses)

ADV is also a motorcycle fashion category, just like we have outfits for "Caffe racers", "Cruisers", "Racing", "Motocross" etc

ADV helmets (imo) also look cool, and they complete that "ADV" outfit, boots and gloves. If you have a beautiful looking ATAS it's nice to compliment the look by wearing some ADV gear (doesn't necessarily have to be a $4K Klim, there are many other / budget friendly solutions available)

The C5 can be adapted to your head with an assortment of different pads, did the dealer you got it from not offer a fitting service to alter the internal shape to suit you?
Never heard of such "fitting service" on Schuberth helmets, here it comes in the box, you pay and take it home :)

Due to Covid It was impossible to even try one in the store, never mind the customization.

Helmets should come with those "pump up" pillows in strategic places, or padding something like "AirHawk" so one can adjust the air pressure inside the padding.
