They're Conti TKC's. I've heard they're fantastic road tires and semi competent in the dirt (not off road, but gravel/dirt roads, sand) if you deflate somewhat...I doubt it. I believe BMW has done that before but I've never heard of anyone else doing it. I personally prefer the more conservative tire. As much as I would like to think I will spend enough time in the dirt to justify knobbies the truth is most of my miles will be on the road.
Better than most knobbies. I find D606's will lock the rear with just a slight touch on wet pavement. Any dual sport tire is always going to be a compromise, they just take a little getting used to.I have heard they can be a little tricky on pavement especially when new and especially in the rain.
