I’ve been thinking about getting the Yoshimura slip on and have been hearing that an ECU flash or tune wouldn’t be required if I go this route. However, I watched an install video and they had to disconnect the servo cables from the can so I am assuming the cat is in the can itself. If the cat is essentially getting removed, how is a tune or flash not required?

Heres the video

Not sure, doesn't seem to harm as most aftermarket silencers don't have valves and people either just disconnect the cables or remove the servo and fit a servo eliminator from Healtech.
I went SC Project, it has a valve so..

Pic below showing where the cat is.

Makes sense. How do you like the SC Project? I imagine it’s the loudest option (which I would prefer). Yoshimura has a nice sound from videos but not sure if it’s much louder than stock

I like it but it is not loud. It is slightly louder than the oem but not a huge amount but it does, at least to my ears, have a nicer sound. I do not personally like excessively loud exhausts so...

I see, I assumed that SC were always the loudest option but guess it differs bike to bike. I’ll have to research more

I believe you can disconnect the cables and the valve just stays open or they also make a bypass plug for it, if you take it off..

Correct, I have the Yosh slip on and just disconnected the cables, easy - no tuning or ECU stuff needed as Hood said. I did end up installing the Healteach servo eliminator to clean things up a bit but it isn't necessary. Sounds good but not loud just deeper and you can install a spart arrester if needed.
