Lowering a 2016 AT - help needed

Hey all. I have a 2016 Manual model. I am 5'10 at 30 inseam. I've been riding it for about 2 months and I am loving it. I have noticed that I am having a tough time around parking lots/occupied areas sometimes to back my bike in, etc. I think that height is playing a big role in it considering I can't put both feet down flat. I was thinking of seeing what my options are to lower it. I don't mind losing ground clearance much as I mainly stay on-road. I am not very tech savvy so would likely take it somewhere for it to be done.

Could someone tell me what parts would be needed, the cost associated with them, and by how much I can lower it? Ideally I would like to get about 2-3 inches down.

I have a 2022 but the method would be the same. The way I went was to use a 30mm lowering link on the rear and drop the forks through the yoke by 11 or 12mm. Works great for me, 5'8" with 29 inside leg.The suspension travel is unaltered by doing it that way, just ground clearance is changed.

Just get off the bike to back it in like a bipedal human rather than doing the duck waddle?
Soupys rear lowering link and drop the front forks through the tree clamps 12 mm. worked for me.

hi there you mean just slacken of all 4 clamps/ yolks ,and drop the forks 11-12mm ,im going to also put the lowering link on
Yes, best to do one side at a time however as that means the bike won't suddenly take a nose dive when you are adjusting :)
You can see mine here, normally the top of the forks would be flush with the top yoke.

Before I dropped you can see the amount of flat section before the forks reduce in diameter.

so what about the side stand wont that be to long

I am not sure on the earlier AT's, on my 2022 I chopped and rewelded the stand but I probably could have left it as is as on occasion I feel it is too short.
how much you chop it down then say half inch ,

thinking on i suppose the amount the bike drops take that amount from the stand maybe a little less
I chopped 25mm off I think and then put on one of the enlarged feet which made it a bit longer again, probably about 4mm.
The 2020 onwards stands are steel so easily welded, the 2016-2019 have aluminium stands so not so easy to weld. Well easy enough to weld but not so many people around that can weld aluminium.

Fork tubes slide up in the clamps and lowering links (adjusted for 1 inch) in the rear suspension. Fork and shock spring preload all the way out. Might have added some shock spring preload though. OEM side stand with a foot still works fine on flat pavement/ground. Been like this for nearly six years now.

I purchased a Soupy's link. It was simply and cost about $100. I didn't bother to change the forks, no problem.
