The latest goodies from my friend Jonathan @ Rugged Roads.

Why hide some of the beautiful pipe work of my Arrow pipe behind rear footrest hangers I don't use (bar when I need my panniers) ? These tidy up the bolt holes beautifully plus they can give me somewhere else to hook a bungee if required.

And make the pipe look even cooler !

They are the first set I have seen fitted with the Honda upper cowl bars. I will have a closer look. I assume they are the prototype and that the welding will be a little better on the production items.

Those looks good, I like how they're not tucked right in by the engine cases.

Jonathan, when are the DCT lowers and uppers coming out?
On facebook they said they are for both models. And her in the name stands SD04 2016 all. So I suppose it s DCT included. I will wait for those. Seems ok for me and what they mention on facebook to. Will fit with OEM honda crashbars.

These Engine Crashbars will fit both Manual and DCT engined bikes :grin2:
They have a triangulated 3 point mounting on each side to reduce the possibility of folding into the bike on impact. They will be manufactured in steel, acid etched and matt powdercoated for a durable finish :smile2:
I can confirm that they are fully compatible with the original Honda Accessory Bars :grin2:

Yes - these images are of the Prototype set - for production manufacturing, all tubes will be CNC formed and lasered, and then fully hand welded in a jig.

Thanks for the update. The Honda accessory bars are sold in many markets as light mounts rather than crash bars, ie, they don't offer much impact protection. Will your guards be compatible with any of the beefier upper crash guards on the market?

Do the engine bars keep the bodywork off the ground when bike on its side? looks like they stick out far enough to avoid contact.
can you also produce some sliders for the rear footpegs to take a tumble without damaging hangers, R&G do some for KTM SMT

hmmm... the rugged roads own web site specifically excludes the DCT...
quote:

"
Will fit Manual engines only
Will NOT fit DCT engines.
"

The ones we currently have in stock are for Manual engines only.

We have new stock arriving next month that fit BOTH Manual and DCT engines, and are compatible with the Honda Upper Bars............:smile2:

Jonathan

website says "Will NOT fit DCT engines" so you might want to change that text to avoid confusion.

Cheers Terry
