Hello everyone!

I'm Alessio, from Italy (Como Lake) and after an year on a KTM 990 Adventure i just sold it to buy the new AT.

I have ridden it (DCT) last week and now I'm waiting for an HRC one with manual transmission and ABS.

I have to wait 30 days but it's coming with the limited edition RNS TripMaster and the book :grin2:

Yeah, KTM is an awesome brand and as they say it's "ready to race".

I think that 990 (and 950) is one of the last "real adventure bikes" produced in the last years.

I mean, bmw GSA is great bike but it weights 260 kg!!!

On the other side KTM ADV weights 210kg but the real deal is that you have a real low and well balanced center of gravity that make it more easy to handle especially for a person like me that weights 60kg.

The engine is for sure overpowered for off-road use, 115cv on a dual sport bike are a lot, but on the gravel you can have a lot of fun riding it like a supermotard :D

And of course an engine like that have some drawback. First one is that in the summer you ride an "oven", the engine gets really hot and the fact that is covered with the big tanks and the seat doesn't help. The other one is that some 950/990 are oil eater. Last one is the fuel consumption, you are riding a 1000cc with 115cv and you can't expect more then 14 km/l. This means that with full tanks you can make approx 230/240 km.

New range of KTM (1050, 1190 and 1290) are what the market request and the only one that is close to an adventure bike is the 1190 ADV.

Fortunately Honda is finally here with the new AT :)
