Just had a phone call from my dealer.
The Tri-colour CDT i ordered and paid a deposit for in February is now not going to arrive until mid July (if they stick to that date).
There are absolutely none available and even the manuals will be in short supply.
Ridiculous situation, so i'll probably go to another manufacturer now or buy a 'winter hack' and try again next year.
Not impressed how a multi-national company can get itself into such a mess.

I understand your frustration, but would you rather them race to produce more bikes and risk quality?

The DCT model has sold much better than expected, seems they have done a great job with it, and all the positive press reports have increased the sales.

Manual model will be short supply as customers choose it just to get a bike.

If I was in your position I would consider cancelling but it is a fabulous bike, i have 5 new bikes in 6 yrs and the AT looks like it might just be the one.

Oh good lord... If even Europe is feeling the pinch now, what does this mean for US orders?? Nothing good, I'm sure!

The winter hack idea is the route I took to help with the waiting. It helps, but I would quite like to get on with farkling the AT now... Which is hard to do on a currently non-existent bike!

Im in the same boat, got nowhere with Honda UK, forced into the manual which arrived today as needed for my travel plans, disappointing from Honda but I'm sure i'll have fun with her.
I'm a DCT owner (NC750X) and was disappointed to find when I went for my demo ride on the AT that it was a manual. But I loved it. It felt like the best manual gearbox I've ever tried and a lovely light clutch.

Whatever are you complaining about..

Meanwhile, here in NZ.

"e the DCT demo.
As frustrating as it is there are no more Africa Twins of any variant until November (Honda NZ are trying their best to make it sooner ,but too early to know at this stage) .This means our demo DCT machine will arrive the same day as your DCT bike .This situation applies to all NZ dealers ,we’ve been fortunate to have an initial sprinkling of the bikes in NZ so far but there will be a big gap to our next machines .At this time USA and a lot of the European markets don’t have any at all, so all Japans production is geared to supply them .Worldwide demand has far exceeded Hondas forecasts and in the mean time we just have to go with the flow .Once the initial flurry settles we will get in to a continuity of supply .I will definitely keep you in the loop as more information comes to hand".
