Hi everyone,

Has anyone got the OEM center stand and find it that it bounces and hits the bottom of the bike on occasion?

I have had my bike for over 2 months now, and I've always noticed it, and now it's starting to sh*t me. Specially when I'm off the paved stuff, the stand just bangs and bounces, I keep thinking I've hit something on the bottom or a piece of rock was flicked under the bike.

Is there any fixes I can do to this? A second spring? Heavier spring? Anything?

I am wondering if there is a spring unhooked or missing. Usually there are two springs, one inside the other on most bikes. I won't have my new AT until next week so this is only a suggestion.

Yeah just checked, 2 springs. Another forum suggest I maybe use some sort of rubber band to hold it up for quick fix.

Only off road and then i have other things to worry about ..... like staying on

You might try a bungee cord when you go off road. You would still have the side stand when you make a short stop.

I would be a little worried with it dropping down on bumps. Seems like at some time it would catch on something. Not a good "get off" method.

I am thinking about some kind of rubber band to help hold it in place as it bangs about too much when bouncing on the rough stuff , or even removing it completely it annoys me so much .

What I used to use on international enduros on my KTM's worked as good as anything was a big rubber band cut from an inner tube and hooked round some handy part, footrest would work on the AT expect. Cheap easy and you can take it off when you don't need it.

I use a velcro strap on mine for when I go off road. I have the SW Motech, and although it doesn't bounce, I still use the strap off road.
