Hello all
Had my AT in April and seems to have been moaning at Honda ever since as dealer instructed. I have a 2001 XRV750 which is still beautiful. My DCT has tarnished rear wheel spokes, pathetic heated grips and now a sump guard covered in filiform corrosion. All the normal nause by the sound of it. Great bike to ride but finish is so bad it will definitely not match the appearance of the XRV after 15 years. Seems like the bike is really built to a low price without any view to brand damage.

Heh ho I will just keep moaning

Cheers

Welcome along Chancey, Tell us about the things you like, :wink2: I agree the spokes are a pain, and the grips could be a little hotter on the top setting,

I have the DCT Tri Colour, and I'm thrilled to bits with it, has to be the best all round bike I've ever bought, wish my other bikes were DCT , suspension perfect great road holding ( even better know Ive fitted Trail Attack 2s) easy to ride and precision steering even with the 21 inch wheel, and looks a million $ :grin2:

I fitted the Batzen adjustable screen and a set of pivot pegs,

Hello Elvisto What I liked were the price and looks and size. The ride and comfort are great. I have several Hondas so no question I forgive them everything just more attention to detail. These are not technology issues just same old issues that bike manufacturers have been dealing with for decades. I have fitted the Trail Attack 2's as well as I am used to them. Good move.
Cheers

True Ad Venture, So wait are you saying there are Japan ATs and other ATs built elsewhere? If so I would THINK it mainly assembly with parts manufactured in same plants no matter where assembled...no? Seems like the fit and finish would not vary so much...unless there are national laws where X % of parts have to made in country (just a wild guess) ...in which case I could see spokes varying in finish etc. If I had to guess however I would guess something else might be culprits in "finish" corrosion etc....

I read multiple people here raving about "Attack2" tires...I did a quick search and found some ,,,wild looking tires! and it does say dual sport alright, but man I have never seen dual sport tires look anything like these (have been out of riding for a decade though) Question %wise they look 80/20 street/dirt ...is that a decent guess? Or? And If I buy an AT are the stock tires worth wearing out first?
