I have my Porsche wrapped in clear film from new. The other month a big chrome bumper fell of the car in front of me and was unavoidable to hit.

It made a right noise being driven over and my fears looked true when I saw the deep gouges and mess in the film on the front bodywork.

However, when I peeled off the film, the paint was perfect underneath. I was completely and genuinely astounded.

It cost me a couple of hundred bucks to replace the section I had to remove, but a re-spray would have run into thousands.

Money well spent I'd say!

Have you gone for the full coverage JOL or just the tank?

I currently have some home crafted ones on my tank - £7 for a sheet off eBay then much farting about over what shape and where to put them etc. But if there is a better option that's cut properly then I'd prefer that really.
Gone for the full coverage.... i tried the plain sheet to temporary cover the tank and made a complete mess of it, so im hoping to do better with the cut to fit ones!! Hoping they get delivered today so i can have a go of fitting them over the weekend.
They ought to arrive in a chauffeur driven car for £9 delivery!

Good luck fitting them - plenty of solution was the best way for me - be it whatever they give you or just one part Fairy Liquid to 200 water.

Have you asked them how the film will stick over the factory decals?

One thing you guys should consider before getting paint protection film is if you want different colors going on in the area you plan to wrap since the same effort and process that goes into wrapping in PPF, can be used with vinyl wrap, might as well kill two birds at once if you can.
Take pictures when installing please .
If you live where I live, they want 50 pounds to deliver! Australia.
Hi, I have been reading the blogs about the film protection for AT. I am wanting to purchase the full set, but the $80 AU price tag (Australia postage) is putting me off. Have you fitted the product yet?
And - which type of coating did you purchase, the gloss or matt??? I was thinking of going gloss but have some concerns. Can you let me know how you went about applying the film etc please.
Hi guys, huge apologies on the costs to deliver to Aus, this is something we are trying to resolve but at the moment we are at the mercy of our couriers
I bought some 3M gloss film and made templates for my AT. Turned out not too bad, but I'm sure a professional cut kit would be better, alibet a lot more expensive.

Has anyone found a US supplier for a similar product? Shipping costs to the US are a bit much but if this is the only game in town I'll just buy the kit. After all, I did spend $15k on a new bike so whats a little bit more for protection.

Edit: Nevermind I just went ahead with the purchase.

Can you post a pic of the TFT display? I am curious how it looks with the film covering it now that you have used it for some time.

I've got the very same kit. I've never done film install before myself, but I had it in my car and I know it does work to keep stone chips away.

So install is not particularly difficult but requires a lot of patience and quite a bit of time. I have not managed to do it perfect, but it's good enough. The kit is OK, but the main issue for me is the top of the fender coverage is a joke. It does only the front tip and that's all. And fender is one of the first to suffer from stones etc. So I have bought a sheet of similar material and plan to cut and do it properly.
Tank Slapper has a pre cut solution for tank protection cinch them out. Much easier.
