Does anybody know if this would work on a 2018 adventure sport?
We've discussed this a bit here and on advrider and I don't know of anyone who has tried the new 2022 quickshifter on an 18-19 CRF1000 yet. I have an 18 ATAS with the original style qs and I think the 2022 qs will work with the 18-19 CRF1000 no problem.

Here are my thoughts: The 18-19 qs works with 20-21 CRF1100 and vice versa. The 2022 qs works with 20-21 so it should work with the 18-19. The connectors are the same, no wiring differences, etc. The differences are in the initialization of the qs which vary from 18-19 to 20+ due to the difference in dash / tft setup. So you will need the initialization instructions for 18-19, which I've attached and will require Honda SCS connector or jumper for the DLC plug to initialize. The other attachment - CRF1000 Accessory User Guide includes instructions on how to adjust the qs settings. I really don't know why Honda chose not to include those in the qs installation instructions.

If I didn't already have the older qs on my 18 ATAS, I would have already tried the new 2022 qs.

I’ve also just fitted a 2022 quick shifter to my 2020 bike. I’ve only been out for a very short ride so far, I initially had it set to the middle sensitivity setting but found it a bit jerky so I’ve got it set to the lowest setting now, seems better.
I had gear shift assist on my BMW 1200RT and the Honda shifter is definitely an improvement, I still wince a bit when changing down without the clutch though!

Yeah, it sucks to wince when doing any shifting on a motorcycle. It subtracts from the overall enjoyment.

That's where I set it up as well, assumed the middle would be the happy place. I'll try the lowest setting. (y)

I'm imagining if I'd had one on my 1290 SD-R. May as well have lit my license on fire.

Only had mine fitted a few days, been out on a good ride with it today and I'm not sure if I'll keep it on. It is the first quick shifter I've used and it just seems wrong to be changing gear with the throttle open, even though it seems to be working as its meant too. I will probably give it a couple more rides out then sell it on if I can't get used to it.

That is the first quick shifter I've used so have nothing to compare to, but I feel comfortable to use it only for shifting gears 4-5-6. For lower gears It is quite jerky and I still use a clutch.

Just as an aside - I have realised that I have the finest quickshifter in the world fitted to my 2019 bike. It came as standard and is called DCT. Now please don't throw your hands in the air because this is a serious comment. I have done 50k miles on my two DCT africa Twins and never saw the point in riding in manual rather than D or S. But since I bought a Triumph Thruxton R ..... and wanted a quickshifter fitted that proved to be pretty useless (no downshifts), I started exploring my AT using manual mode. Of course it's amazing .... full throttle down and up shifts with not the slightest to-and-fro rocking on the bike. The bike zings. And a really big plus is that it's STILL impossible to stall, as it will downshift for you if you forget, or you have the gear really wrong going into a sharp bend.
Might actually consider the footshifter.

I ordered the New 2022 quick shifter from WeBike and install it on the 2018 Adventure Sport. Works perfect.!!!!
BIG THANKS to ALL for this thread, I hope this will remove any question of compatibility which I had prior.

I saw you took other route for the cable fastening.
If you see my early post here, I managed to install the cable with a nice loop to avoid stress on it.
also the other harness behind it, I was able to install them in a "channel" formed for the black plastic cover up there.
This way, the cable is nice routed.
