How many people on here have fitted the Tubeless 17in 19in wheels because i have and been too honest i told my insurer about them, lo and behold Motorcycle Direct and Carole Nash are trying to have me trousers down. £760 excess and nearly £300.00 premium.Last year £350 excess £230 policy.

It seems to be a recent thing in the UK, MCE will not cover:

Change to BHP or Torque including chipping,
Cylinder head machined, gas flowed or polished.
Super/turbocharger fitted including Nitros,
Camshaft changed.

Must be notified and value of.

Gearbox changed including ratios (sprocket changes)

Suspension lowered or raised and by how much in mm.

Wheel change or tyre size.

Uprated brakes including material of brake pads different to original manufacturers.

my insurer wanted £70 extra per year for a powercommander I tried fitting just to cure the low speed jerkiness.

Cripes. Is the ramifications the same for modified cages?
yeah I think so. And yet they weren't bothered about me towing a caravan (I'm talking about the 'cage' now :) ). And the extra risks of a towing accident must be more than me trying to smooth out the bottom end of a lumpy motorbike engine .... but who knows
