Nightmare - imagine that insurance claim - panniers, bike, boat,...
who films this stuff
Guy was probably acting shady from before which triggered the person with the camera to start filming. You can see people like that coming from a distance :D

That's true
Easiest £250 they'd ever earn if they sent that into You've been framed :)
No, no, hear the true story. It is a French video of a French motorcycle magazine. The driver is a test rider of the magazine testing the new Yamaha FJR1300 (some years ago). The plan was that the driver would slowly ride along the water to make the video shot. But the rear of the bike was too wide, the driver hit a post with the pannier. Driver unhurt, but the new bike...
The rider dismount was quite impressive actually. A good example of how to disengage from your bike when it drops off the edge of something - hopefully something I'll never need to do mind you!
Maybe he is well practiced at it, not the first time?
lol... yeah, I've seen that before. Awkward phone call to the Yamaha rep after that... "you did what???"
That is why the Honda's come off when hit hard enough I suppose.

I doubt that is by design.
The attachment mechanism for the AT oem panniers looks very similar to the mechanism used for the BMW GS panniers - anyone know if those pop off if you hit them or drop the bike?
