Touratech make mounts for a variety of navigators, including some TomTom models. Their solution for mounting above the instruments is a bar of their own, which has a diameter of 12mm. You then buy a navigator specific mount. It may fit onto the existing bar if the diameter is the same.

Touratech do one. Actually they do two - one that attaches to the handlebar bolts and one that goes on the screen bracket. I think @erey said he'd added one?

If and when I finally get round to buying this bike I would probably wait and see what the options are once I can get a feel of where I want to put things. There must also be a RAM mount somewhere that I could use.

I went with above the instruments because the 12V socket is conveniently just below so, by putting it there, the wires won't move around or, worse still, potentially interfere with steering. When the whole lot is set up, I'll post some pictures.

New on this forum, finding my way and came accross this topic. Just ordered my AT one week ago together with a brand new type GPS mount.

http://www.bikepenr.nl/English.htm

BikePenR is a manufacturer and supplier of mounting brackets for GPS / satnav systems on motorcycles.

Based in The Netherlands. Ordering via the dealer (no direct ordering)

Looks far better than the Touratech adapter bracket, however also more expensive.

I bought sw-motech quick-lock crossbar mount for zumo350. The only thing i would like to now is witch connectors they use to connect accessory. I now their is a connector in the fairing to connect the 12V accesory socket in the fairing.

Picked up my new AT at the dealer this morning and made a 1st ride. BikePenR GPS mount was installed on the frame of the wind screen. Hooked in my Zumo390 and made adjustements for the best postion of the Zumo. GPS mount almost vertical and the Zumo close behind the screen at the same angle as the dash. Rock solid, no vibration of the Zumo, The Zumo blocks partly the view through the screen, but I am 1.90 m and look well above the screen. A happy man.

That BikePenR GPS mount looks good, but it sits the GPS very high. Anyone know of one that's about half the length? I want the GPS to be tucked in close to the bar, and if that means I have to take the screen off while I get in behind it to fit the mount, then I'm happy with that. Convenience to mount it happens once. Convenience to use it happens every time I ride it.

I have fitted a BMW GPS Mounting BMW R1100, 1150GS & Adv. This unit fits the new Africa Twin brilliantly and is much more secure than the RAM mounts. I found that the RAM mount suffered from too much vibration when off the main roads.

My own 3D printed zumo adapter

I too was looking for a simple adapter to mount my Zumo on the AT screen bar.
Didn't find anything to my taste, so I designed one for myself and let it be 3D print by an online 3D printing service ("i.materialise.com")
It works perfectly and my gps is now where it should be: just above the panel, on the 13 mm screen bar, without all the complex components from Ram or Touratech.

I made my design available for 3D printing, so anyone who's interested can let it print for himself.
Just look at https://i.materialise.com/shop/item/africa-twin-crf1000-mount-a-garmin-zumo-directly-on-the-rail

AfricaTwin is my 5th bike and with all my bikes i have mounted my Zumo with ram mounts (which came in the box) - now i have bought a new tomtomrider410 and decided to mount it to bar on windscreen, but not satisfied because of so much vibration when offroad riding and so much wind noise with higher speeds...

so i am looking for a better place to mount or a good adapter (like as touratech)
