I just purchased some new ADV boots and they are thicker. In looking at the shifter it appears it may be a royal PIA to raise the shift lever one notch/spline.
Any helpful thoughts?

Hi, I did mine. It's simple. Just loosen the bolt , take off the arm and refit it 1 spline away. Takes 2 minutes.
Then re adjust as necessary.

Gar ...Did you adjust the linkage on the lower end only?

Hi, there are no splines to adjust on the bottom. The gear lever just rotates on a smooth shaft.
So if you can't get enough adjustment by loosening the lock nuts and twisting the linkage bar, which moves the gear lever up or down, then just remove the top clamp (where the shaft comes out of the engine case) and refit on the next spline.
