back in my dirt days they would run like someone with their butt on fire
Those were dangerous a f. I have the scars to prove it. I remember getting into the power band a bit too much on an old big bore Husky two stroke of my buddies only to find the handling and suspension had different ideas about where we were going. I think I did 75 yards on bare forearms after my getoff over the handlebars. Good times. 😆

Without going into politics, Biden and EU may "implement sanctions" to China, if they prove China is supplying weapons to Vladimir.

Would that mean;
  • a "complete disconnect" of China with the World?
  • Ban KTM and others to manufacture in C.
  • Stop buying "everything" from C.
I think we’ll see company’s on the move to Vietnam, India, etc quickly for electronics as they build out replacement supply lines.

This is all coming from China using civilian companies to gather US, Japanese, Taiwan equipment/materials and products specifically microchips for weapons systems that are now outclassing our own.

Specifically hypersonic missiles capable of nuclear that outclass out own, using components we developed.

But this includes most modern weapons, many will also go strait to Russia.

They’re cutting that off and it’ll cut off a lot of other business in the process. Whomever controls the microchips controls modern advanced weapons and holds a huge power advantage in the world.

FABS being subsidized and installed in multiple places in the USA is part of this and a hedge against the ones in Taiwan being destroyed. Taiwan supply’s something like 90+ percent of microchips in the world.

Without those chips you don’t have Javelin missiles, gps guided artillery, drones etc etc.

I’m sure the Africa Twin is 80-90% Chinese components already just assembled in Japan.

I have no problem with the Chinese, but that government is hostile to the west and we’re just making them stronger year on year because we’re all addicted to prices that come from near slave labor rates of pay.

I’m sure business will do the ethical thing and go to the neighboring country with the next closest to slave labor rate. :poop:

I like KTM’s and Husky’s, rather they weren’t so made in china. I also have a Chinese bike that I bought in 2015.

It’s a crap situation for the Chinese and for all of us.

Aye, I think the move away from China by the West is already happening but it won’t ever be cold turkey imo……too much trading history (centuries). China is trying to flex its muscles, often is the case when it feels vulnerable.

I feel that currently China copy well but don’t invent as good as the West, and the same is said about those Chinese motorcycles, they are pretty much all copies of Jap or Euro bikes and they don’t develop at all really.

It looks nice but I just can't get over the fact the engine is made by CFmoto in China. There have been a lot of camshaft problems on the 790 and 890 KTM's due to poor metal heat treatment.
I just rode 2700 kilometers in Patagonia on a CfMoto 800. I was surprised at the quality of it. I have a few pro's and com's.

You're sure, based on what information?
No the AT are not made In China

The old Transalp was made in italy

I know it’s assembled in Japan. I‘m just speculating, a bit sarcastically (but unfortunately probably somewhat true) that most of the parts are made in china and shipped to japan for assembly. Honda is a big business and I’m sure they love profit margins like all of them. That’s one of the cheapest places to have those parts made. Honda only says made of domestic and globally sourced parts.

I’d be happy to know it was all made in Japan but I highly doubt it with global parts supply. Assembled yes.

I would love it if they cast every casing, welded every frame and produced all the electronics in Japan but I’d be shocked if that was actually the case with the global supply chain.

That said we pay for the Honda brand name and I have no doubt anything made there is being closely watched for quality control. China can produce the highest quality stuff when a brand wants that.
