Just imagine how crazy the internet would go with all that talk about in person experience with these bikes! That's actually worse than Honda putting out more videos. It's just out of reach.... Come on, just let me sit on it for a second.
Are there any more images from the show?
Do you suppose that's one of the CRF450 Rally bikes from this past race season?... or perhaps something else, a concept of a future mid-sized Dual Sport model? IMO, Honda needs to step up to the plate and come out with a replacement for the XR650L, which is now 23 years old. I have a '94 XR650L, and it's been a decent bike for what it is. But IMO it's time for Honda to put a XR650L on display in the Honda Collection Hall at Motegi for posterity, and move on to giving us an all new 600 - 650cc D/S that is a serious off road contender along the lines of the KTM mid-sized EXC's.
exactly what I was thinkingNot to rain on the parade here, but we've all known what the AT looks like for quite some time now... looks just like the other pic's of the red/white/black Dakar Rally version fitted with accessories.
What I'm curious about, is the bike parked just behind the AT in this photo...

Come on Honda, I know you can do it.![]()
Well they did sell EVERYSINGLE ONE of the RCV race replica... maybe that sets a precedent for them offering high end competition-spec products... but fekkk what would they ask for it... 50 grand...At first I thought that was just the CRF250 Rally done up with a few carbon fiber pieces, but it's actually the 450 Rally. Man oh man, if Honda brought the CRF450 Rally here to the U.S.A. and it was street legal, we'd buy every single one. There would be a waiting list like no other bike and I'd spoon mine every night.
HONDA ! ! ! Bring us a 450 Rally and don't dumb down the suspension, brakes, and important parts. Make it street legal with junk we can remove to open it up the way we would a CRX or WR-F. We will buy it.
Hope to see you guys on the 2017 Honda CRF450 Rally Forum.
Cheers from sunny Florida.... Jim
Yes it was... however that they had a CRF450 Rally on display in Tokyo doesn't imply that it will be a production model. I think Honda just put it on display with the Africa Twin to add a bit more splash or 'bling' to the display, and nothing more.Wait, was it really the CRF450 in the background?
Which bike are you referring to... the Africa Twin, or the CRF450 Rally? Is that the final production model for the rally bike?
Hand in hand with Bang Bang and Marquez videos... same reason they sell CBRs in Repsol liveries...Yes it was... however that they had a CRF450 Rally on display in Tokyo doesn't imply that it will be a production model. Kilometers per hour?I think the CRF450 Rally's top speed was 170, a pretty high speed range for a rally.
