Hi folks, unfortunately the back rest on my top box has fallen off at some point on my way home from work yesterday.. I've gone over the route to try and find it, to no avail.
I've just gone on to the Honda official website, and they want £75 for a replacement!! £75 for a piece of covered foam!! So, the question is, does anyone know of a cheaper replacement part? (I occasionally take my wife on the back of the bike, so having the back rest is a real boon at those times)
Thanks for any advice/responses.

Welcome to the Forum Murdoch.

That is a drag to lose something simple, yet premium.

Try this as a "starting point". Maybe you can find a more economical and possibly better alternative solution:

Mine fell off after 1000 miles. I still have it but could never stick it back on. £75 wow that’s a rip off. I bought my bike with most options fitted a few years ago . I dread to think what it cost new .Main Stand ,bars, fog lights , heated grips, 12v socket , full luggage,DCT. But £75 for a pad of foam?

Do you think the box with the back rest is safe to lean against? Honda couldn't really give me a clear idea. We have the 32kg Genuine top box and see you can get a back rest that sticks to the top box for $241 inc GST. Want to make sure it's safe the top box is safe to lean on before spending the $241. Or Should we get a pillion seat and change our back rack?

Hey @Krissy - I reckon you meant "32L" and not 32 kg top box.

Welcome to the Forum!

I have never heard of a properly mounted top box "failing" because the passenger rested against it during rides. Most manufacturers, including of the bike and rack are more concerned of the weight in the box.

Here's one plus £4 shipping to UK depends which top box you have though. I'd go with the 3M tape option for sticking it's good stuff
