Trouble removing front fairing on a 2021 base model

Hello, While trying to remove the front fairings on the 2021 base model I am hung up. I have released all the plug fasteners (the point that fits into the rubber grommet holes) except the one under the turn signal stalk. (there is one there on the AS model according to the videos) Assuming it’s there on the base model I can’t get it to release. I am mindful of the fragility of the tabs and don’t want to break anything by pulling too hard. Any idea if the tank fairing has to come off first? Because if it does it’s not coming off, hanging up at the forward portion.Does anyone have any intel on the issue? Thanks.

The tank front cover, what you're calling the tank fairing is the first item the workshop manual says to remove. Don't miss the four trim clips on the inside of the well area. You push the center pin in and pry the clip out with a small screw driver in case you don't know. Also don't miss the two trim clips (each side ) in the radiator area which pin the mid cowl along the forward edge.

Thanks for the response. Good to know the tank front cover comes off first. Did remove all the push pins from near the radiator and tank cover. The forward part of the front tank cover seems firmly attached to the fairing and will not release.Have you successfully removed the fairings on a 2020-21 base model without breaking any plastic? Thanks again.

Yes I have. Grab the tank cover from inside and flex it up on the well side and down at the junction with the mid cowl. Once all fasteners are removed slide the mid cowl forward slightly and it will release.
On the base model the tank cover has (like the ATAS) 4 push pins and 4 screws holding it, it also clips into the side panels and needs a wee bit of flexing to release.
I have arrowed where the side panels clip into the tank cover.

I put up a PSA on just this a while back.
Finally got the tank cover off and the side fairings without breaking anything. A lot of gentle bending and flexing. Thanks for the reply’s😁
