.....well my wife seems to totally disagree with that verdict, she says that it's the best bike she has ever pillioned on and she's been on a few.....Varadero, Blackbird, MV Brutale, etc.......

yep same here.. TW says its as good the Pan 13 we had.. still using the sheepskin cover.

...wrong again....very comfortable. You've got to remember that most of the so-called touring bikes are extremely wide in the pillion seat which means, if you pardon the mental pictures, means your partner has to spread her legs very wide which means cramps and pain.You actually made your wife pillion on a MV Brutale:laugh:>

The Brutale was very narrow which makes it very comfortable over long distances. I also had it set up with a Ventura bag with a zip on backrest for her to lean on so she found it very comfortable.....also did 600k days 2-up on my F4 as well.....obviously the AT is better!!!!

We've just done 1,700 miles around Spain and Portugal on all sorts of roads and my wife says it's the most comfortable bike in 20 years, and that includes a few BMW's.

Don't know how the pillion seat feels , but the riders seat could do with softer foam , the shape is great it just feels a little bit hard after 300 miles .

I have to agree, I am a very round squishy bloke and I find it a touch hard on the long runs. The low seat I bought is worse so I took it off!!

Ive now done aprox 600 miles and find that the seat has 'mellowed' a bit. I have a very sensitive arse (wouldn't fair well in prison!) so have tried almost everything. I have tried an air hawk seat pad, padded cycle shorts as I initially found the seat way to hard! the air hawk does help but I still get numb bum at around 200 miles, the padded cycle shorts work for about the same distance! I haven't tried both at the same time yet! but will try this combo next time out lol.... I did however go for a ride yesterday for 300 miles using cycle shorts and found that the seat seems to be moulding to my rather large posterior! and wasn't too bad, so maybe they do need some breaking in. Either way its much better than my old 800GS seat which was bad! Next to try out will be a sheepskin to see what that's like. Or even a sheepskin, air hawk cycle short combo!!!!!!pmsl, plus it will raise my ride height at the same time hehehehe...
I did 335 miles on Friday on the low seat, I was pretty "tender" when I got home, the standard seat does feel a little easier on the bum cheeks , both are pretty **** hard after the Triumph Tiger, might look at a sheep skin cover... Who makes em ?

Aus AT- Did you have to make any modifications to the stock rear shock, such as new valving or a stiffer spring?
