I have read that the bike does not default to factory settings if you drop the sidestand while the engine is running. What the writer did not confirm was whether you can then take the key out and still maintain your own settings when putting it back the key back in again.

What does actually happen?

To retain settings temporarily while riding,
1. you can drop the sidestand and kill the engine,
but by leaving the ignition on, you retain the settings by
starting the engine.
2. you can click the gear into neutral and drop the sidestand
leaving the engine running, retain all settings.

If you turn off the engine by the ignition key, everything returns to default.

Oh......and the settings are on the highest for traction and abs?

And am I going to regret this purchase, based on me asking the dealer if it was possible to remove all the gubbins that activated all the interventions?
