The BMW website says the F800gs weighs 472. The AT weighs 511. Difference is only 39. Add 23 for the DCT version. I think you will find that the AT off road capabilities are much better and there is no question the reliability is MUCH better with the Africa Twin. I'm sure the extra weight can make a difference but I don't think it would be noticeable, (except when you drop it :wink2.
Got it guys. Thanks. Wet and dry weights were inadvertently crossed for comparison. The dry weight of the 800GS is around 421 and this is the number I had recalled.
