Mounted my new to me TomTom Rider 550 GPS, which I purchased used from another forum member. I'm tired of futzing with a cell phone GPS for day to day use; a dedicated unit is much more convenient for that. I'll save the cell phone and Gaia for off road use where it really shines.

In preparation for the coming cold season I installed Oxford Heated Grips onto my AT. Put them on low on a 70*F morning to verify they function and they work great. Looking forward to warmer hands this winter! For future reference, the "Touring" model grips are the same length as the factory grips (120mm). If you buy "adventure" model grips you'll need to trim 10mm off to fit (without sliding controls around).

Will you run off the stock battery or have you gone down the Lithium route, any concerns about draining the batter?

I ran power through a switched circuit on my Eastern Beaver PC-8. I don't have any concerns about draining the battery, but in all honesty I didn't even consider it. I assumed the charging system on the AT was up to the task considering they only draw 60w on high.

... hopefully such an accessory goes through a switch block. Otherwise, one moment of weakness (i.e. forgetfulness), or some parking lot punk playing with your controls, will deep dive your battery in minutes.

The Oxfords have an auto shut-off feature but to be safe I did wire them to a switched circuit on my PC-8. (y)

I think the Oxfords have a cut off if they notice the battery voltage dropping but what I was thinking is about drainage of the battery during use. I used to have heated grips years ago and if my bike was rode on short rides with the grips on, it would overwhelm the battery and drain it - might of been a rubbish battery (not Lithium) or reg recs I don’t know. It’s just made me weary of aftermarket grips on an “old” style battery.

Maximum power consumption is 60w so I don't expect any issues whatsoever. In fact, I'll be adding a Warm 'N Safe heated shirt soon (another 48w) and it doesn't concern me at all. Going on memory the AT stator output is 490w at 5000 rpm, so there should be a couple hundred watts available for accessories.

Made a bracket from some 3mm stainless.

Test fitted it to the AT.

Tried the Innovv K5 on and I think it will work well there.

Also decided to just hook the Innovv converter to the ezCAN instead of going to the battery so I soldered on a connector and taped up the wires.

Hopefully I get a chance to fit everything at the weekend.
Did you check for fender clearance under full fork compression?

No but don't think it will be a problem but I maybe should check :D
I've never checked myself, and there may be plenty of room, but I know on some bikes the fender gets pretty close under full compression. Probably worth a look, I'd hate to see subsequent posts about a smashed camera. ;)

Finished my winter readiness and installed the power lead for my Warm ‘N Safe heated jacket. Looking forward to not freezing my ass off while commuting this winter.

They are the alcan. This morning was the first ride with them. I am still on the fence a tad. The mounting leaves a tad to be desired but I am going to play with it some. It was 46F here this morning with my thin leather gloves. Had a tad of discomfort on the backs of my hands “heated grips” but i think I can make it a little better. The biggest problem I see with the at is all the wires/cables going to the hand grip, make it tough to keep the air out of the hippo hands neoprene around the bars. Something I did notice it it seemed to move a lot of air to my chest that I didn’t feel beforehand. If I can’t remedy the chest air issue, I will probably sell these.
Man, thank you for you thoughts. I've been on the fence about these, and I think now I'll hold off. Last winter I was cold on my commute, particularly my hands, but this year I've added heated grips and a heated Warm 'N Safe jacket. I think I'll give those additions a chance before making any more changes.

Heated grips will keep your palms warm, but your fingers WILL be cold on the outside.

Heated jacket will help very little, the wind is like water... it will find the way to get to you.

Layers and layers are your best defence.

And the only way to keep that windchill away from your hands are those Hippohands (or similar), also if you can ride wearing some half/mittens, the ones that have thumb and index finger separated.

I do layer already, and the heated jacket will just be my base layer (over my work shirt) but under my riding jacket. I will also use a waterproof shell over everything for those rare occasions it rains (I'm in drought stricken southern California).

Fitted a Cool Covers seat cover. Not needing it for the cooling effect as it never gets that hot here but I am hoping that it makes things a bit more comfortable. After a couple of hours I usually start getting a sore backside and some people say they work well to stop that while others say they don't, I will find out at the weekend hopefully.
It is sitting a bit proud in the middle section but reportedly they stretch and sit flush, we will see but it does go flat when my fat erse is on it :D

Your bike looks great, and the SC Project exhaust really looks fantastic!

Stripped the legs off the big girl to install springs, but now that it’s apart I’m debating bringing them to Race Tech and having them valved, too.

all the guys tried their best to make it to the top.
Some of us needed more help than others. At the end we all made it.
With the ATs, the issue was that the guy in front of us stalled his bike and we had to stop. ( the momentum as gone with the wind)
The AT with the DCT won't stall, we could have keep chugging along to the top, unless we loose control and down we go.
But once those heavy bikes stop in a hill, it's very difficult to get traction and momentum to keep going
This is why when climbing hills I don't begin until the bikes ahead of me are clear. Having to stop mid way really sucks.
