Share what you did today with the Africa Twin community!

Example: Met up with the Africa Twin group and went on a ride with the boys!

Example: Finally received the heated grips in the mail. I will be installing them tomorow, stay tuned for pictures.

Example: Took her out to play in the dirt for the first time...

Anything goes.... :grin2:

Didn't like how HEED bags were rubbing against the fairing plastic, so I created a quick support (spacer), to keep the back side of bags away from the bike, at the same time created more "breathing space" for radiator fans to evacuate hot air.
Cut some hard plastic for inside of bags to make the back side of bags stiffer. (used Home Depot garbage bag inserts plastic)
Applied black rubberized tubing to prevent the cable ties from sliding on crash bars.
Use only "black UV resistant" cable ties.

I need to go look at mine…
Converted my wheels to tubless with the outex kit and put on new mission trailmax tires. Time consuming job but happy as a clam with the results. I promise the garage was clean when I started.

... it can certainly be a chore with those tires.

Using the baha no pinch tool made getting the tires on pretty simple. I had read all the horror stories about how hard they were to mount but they went right on. Actually I believe this is the first time I've ever put on motorcycle tires in my life.
Ordered Heed Crash Bars (tank/engine) Bunker Black for my 22 AT Standard Manual. Should arrive from across the pond 03/31/2023.

Installed a couple of 8" LED light bars on my '22 ATAS, they are plenty bright, and angled to better illuminate left and right area of the trail. They also give a more unique and easily recognizable "light signature of my bike" for my ridding buddies.

.... Leaning on gravel is usualy not a very good idea, ...
I don't get the chance to do much gravel here, nearly all such terrain is private :( but Is that not what you are meant to do? Lean the bike but move yourself the opposite way so your weight is over the contact patch?

Ha,ha sure IF you are 20yrs old, and your name is Toni Bou or Kirian Mirabet :ROFLMAO: ...not me, when I ride on "ball bearing" pebbles I try to stay "as vertical as possible" when cornering. I'm just not skilled enough to keep my AT under traction, Rev the engine and drift the rear end at speed. Part of the problem is I learned everything about bikes by riding on street bikes, so first thing I learned is you don't lean in corners, the same way you would when on pavement.

Quite unfair, lets see those Pro rides use stock tires.

Noticed the dished washers on my chain guide were getting a bit furry with being caked in salt crud so decided to make a couple from aluminium. Anodising didn't turn out as good as I would have liked but will be fine for this application.

Also got a phone holder yesterday. I don't need the waterproof feature of the case but wanted it for the secure clamping. Had to cut the rubber inlay away as my phone is too thick and also my phone is a bit shorter so positioning it right for the wireless charger was hit or miss. Decided to make up a spacer from a bit of acetal.

It wasn't today, but last week I went on a 1600 mile trip to Big Bend National Park. Lots of highway and a good bit of desert backroads. The first one is a ghost town called Dryden, Texas.

I test fitted the wireless phone case and promptly took it back off as it is far too big and ugly and also it would be a real pain to open with a gloved hand. £38 wasted :( well maybe not, I have a plan which may or may not bear fruit, time will tell :D
