I have a full set of AltRider crash bars on my 2017 Twin and could not be happier. Great product, solid and with the lower bar being
1 1/4" in diameter, they disperse impact very well. No vibration issues for my ride either. I was amazed that although very beefy, the whole set of upper, lower and reinforcement bars weighed in at under 21 lbs!

I went with the Heed. Perfect fit, and each side is one piece. Price was very good at about $300 US delivered to the states. Packed very well, good welds, great finish work. Only downside is one that is easy to remedy, and that is two of the fasteners that bolt through the down tube have nuts on either end so impossible to torque. That is easily addressed by the purchase of a couple of ss bolts.

Don't buy any guards that hook blackberry bushes...

The right hand side is covered to a point...
That's why I am leaning more for a large/wide Bumot or B&B bash plate (but shipping is over $100).


I love my Hepco & Becker Lower Engine Guards.... and the H&B OEM upper Bar Bags (stuffed with soft rags)...
I also like the lowers, they look OEM.


I just removed the (inadequate) SW-Motech lowers to install a full set of AltRider. There is no comparison.
For me I live 10 minutes away from the flat south florida everglades = sand/mud, so I don't really need for woody and hilly areas, but more for slow speed tip overs. So many options and have $1,000 budget.

I went with the Heed. Price was very good at about $300 US delivered to the states.
Currently $360 shipped for my ATAS dct. They look good with 3 hard attachment points and a serious contender.


Thanks, I emailed an ebay seller and he stated s/h will be AUS$170 or $114USD and that increases the price to $540. By going direct to B&B did you pay this shipping fee or any other fees in addition like duty fees or taxes? Did they provide any pictures of the bike laid on its side like Altrider and SW-Motech? Every serious company has a photo so if they have one I'd like to see it. Thanks

Been 30+ years since I had an small enduro = very rusty when it comes to trail riding. So I just ordered a black set of Heed bunker bars to start with getting feet wet/muddy.

Not easily, unless you a a whole lot more coordinated than I. One modification I would suggest is that the 8 mm and 10 mm (120 mm long as I recall) bolts that go through the down-tube in front of the engine are actually bolt stock with threads and nuts on both ends, yielding a real ^*[email protected]$% to try to torque. Do yourself a favor and purchase a couple of bolts that are 125 mm - 130 mm and install with a lock-nut. This allows you to unbolt the front fastener and loosen the other bolts without removing. Besides being able to torque those two long bolts, you just might have the added bonus of being able to spring the bars far enough out without removing to remove the side Tupperware and access the air filter boxes. Just a theory mind you, but one I intend to test at air-filter time.
