After an off,the off-side foot peg(Right) is at an angle,it looks different in design from the left one,is there a special technique for re-straightening these? The hinge on the peg is o.k and moves, but it hits a solid bit of metal on the peg holding frame, which prevents it going level.Any idea,s?

the right footpeg mount is a weak point in the AT. At least in the earlier models like the '17 (mine)
The right footpeg mount is an ungainly chunck of cast aluminium into which the designers dropped 4 functions.

Hold the footpeg, the pivot point for the rear break pedal, and the right side stopper for the centerstand and a mounting point for the exhaust.

Being cast aluminium means its not so ductile. If you can live with the bend, then I would suggest you do so. I guess you could try to bend it back if you are already resigned to changing it out. Its worth a try at that point.

I just had a down on my bike and this part had to be replaced.... again

p.s. despite having the camel reinforcement.

The part for the 2017 model its...

To change it requires unbolting the exhaust and loosening the headers till the pipes are well loose in order to work that part out of its nest.
The first time I did it, it was a frustrating excercise. I've busted 3 of these things so far so I'm an old hand at it now.

The part of this part where the exhaust is mounted has a tough rubber grommet. The replacement does not come with it, so you'll have to man handle it out of the old bent one and install it into the new part before reassembly. A little dish soap and a vice with jawguards to hold the thing helps.

If you're not mechanical, this will probably be better tasked to your mechanic.

My mech in Switzerland quoted me $470 just for the part.
As you can see from the screenshot from Partzilla.com, its half that with the shipping. But I had to wait some time for it.
I would estimate with labour my mech would have charged north of $600 for all the messing about to replace it.
It took me a good hour and a coupl'a beers in my workshop.

I have not looked into this but have Honda improved this part in later models?
I always thought it was a lazy engineering choice to make this from cast aluminium considering the weight of the bike and the loads that the end of this part sustains through the footpeg. Especially in right side drops.

I had a 2017 AT, went down and the foot peg support bracket broke. If this happens on the rpoad, you can use a 10mm bolt as a temporary fix. This is a weak point on the 2016-2017 AT and you can try and bend it back, but my guess is that this will break. You might be successful using heat, but not sure. I had to replace the part and added the Camel ADV support piece. I looked at replacing with a 2018 part marde of steel, but never got an answer if it would fit. Camel ADV AT support brace

Interesting. I concur, this is the weak point of the 2017 model that I ride. So you say that Honda resolved it in 2018 with a steel support. Thats good news, because to the best of my knowledge the 2018 models still have the cable throttles and low tech packages. I am not a fan of fancy electronics.

Good morning. I picked up a 2017 that was in an accident and needed a right footpeg. The mounting bracket, cast alum, was broken. I replaced it with a 2018 bracket which is steel. Bolted right on. Only downside is you need to buy a footpeg for a 2018 AT. Let me add that you need to unbolt the exhaust. No big deal. Just time consuming. Let me know if you have questions. Good luck. Have to correct some info I provided. I purchased the 2018 steel bracket from Parts Pit Stop for $138 including shipping. This is also the part info:
