Buying used, should I do it?

Hola SQK. Here is one owner's experience: Last October I bought a used 2016 manual in Long Island, NY while I was working for Sikorsky in Stratford, CT. I was surfing CycleTrader late one Friday evening and saw her and was immediately interested. She was being sold on consignment for a friend of the owner at a Long Island Honda Powersports dealership right across the sound. She had 2,400 miles and tons of aftermarket stuff which had cost the previous owner about $2,500 by my final calculation. They were asking $10k for the bike out the door. She had been inspected and serviced by the dealer and had a clean bill of health. I was on the Long Island ferry the next morning and ended up paying cash for her!

Not wanting to pay the leftists in NY state or CT anything if I could help it, I had a transport company deliver her to me in CT. I registered her in the relatively free state of Florida where I live, gladly paying that registration fee and sales tax. To get her to FL (this is winter in the NE now) I tossed her into the back of my Ford and brought her home over the Thanksgiving break.

Working in CT with the bike in FL, I was unable to ride her or work on her. Since retiring last month I've been getting her ready for the summer riding season while putting around eastern FL at around 250 miles a week. Today, she is sitting at 4,900 miles and is waiting on crash bars and a tall windscreen.

Bottom line, she is in great shape, everything is working and I'm as pleased with this buy as any pig is in mud!
