My display is even worse. It all started with a tiny crack when the bike was 1 year old. So we are now 2 years after the first crack.
No support from the dealer.

I think it is because of the Spanish sun. But this bike is build for Africa!
WTF! I live next to you, in Portugal and the sun here is like in Spain... Going to put the original screen protector, asap..

Just a standard AT by the looks of the lack of visor over the screen.
Hmmm, so the [sun] visor that used to come with the standard AT, but not anymore, actually might have more value than first thought?

This is a common problem among many motorcycles, particularly those with windshields and how the sunlight could be directed and focused onto the instrumentation.

I have the same problem with the screen, after wintering the motorcycle in a cold garage. At the same time, the screen stopped responding to touch, heating it with a hairdryer, the problem was solved, but not the fact that it will not happen again. I'm going to the dealer on Saturday and see what they say.

My screen did exactly the same thing here in sunny California. It got progressively worse and was really quite distracting.

I ordered a new dash, which is like $2200, but they have been backordered for months.

Today, I decided to try and fix the problem by removing the touch overall in the dash. The result turned out pretty well. I disassembled the dash and hacked away at the touch screen - it turns out it is only attached to the underlying display around the edges and is not attached to the display for the visible area. With a knife, I was able to cut away the bulk touch screen and remove it. I think I could have even done this without removing and disassembling the dash by carefully cutting around the edge of the display. Since the edge of the touch screen is still there, the rubber gasket likely still keeps the dash water tight.

Anyway, I now have a clear screen, though obviously no touch capability, which I did not use anyway. In fact, the touch stopped working as soon as the screen cracked.

My story has a happy ending. In my case, the problem was not in the display, but in the protective film, which peeled off and something got under it. Each motorcycle comes with a protective film for the display, when assembled at the dealer, they are required to glue it before selling. In my case it was. The situation was resolved by regluing the protective film at an authorized dealer.

Hi everyone,

My 2021 Sport ES DCT is showing some weird blemishes on the lower part of the display's screen (see photo attached). The marks look like micro cracks or scratches and seem to be in between the actual screen and its "protective layer" because you can't feel them with your finger or your nail.
Due to their location (lower part of the screen) I'm guessing that it could come from the exposure to direct sunlight, the upper part of the screen being protected by the sun visor.

For the context: I bought the bike 10 months ago, I live in Miami and use the bike every day but I always park it in a covered areas so it's not baking in the sun all day.

So my questions to the community are:
  • Is anyone having the same problem?
  • Would Honda replace the display under its warranty program?
Hi I have the same problem on my 2021 it happened in August travelling around Spain temperatures avg 35c plus it's still under warranty and booked in to the dealer on Thursday 21st September 23 will post the results
Thanks for your help!

Just to clarify, you saying it's possible to cut it our somehow without removing actual display and display is durable enough so it's not going to be damaged?
