These typically come/people use, the 6" RAM Arm with these. Has anyone used the 3" or 2" arm instead? Thoughts/pictures? I am thinking of getting some of these and want to position them low to get them out of the path of airflow towards my head and for looks also and when I see the 6" arm mirrors position low they are sticking out on the side more than I would like. I am not a particularly wide person and don't foresee any reward vision issues placing this lower and out (with the shorter arms).

To follow up on this. Shortly after starting this thread I discovered my cb300r mirrors fit on my AT. They are same except the bend is closer to 90 degrees so they sit lower. I could feel right away that this moved the air coming off/around the mirrors from hitting my shoulders to my biceps and there was a reduction in wind noise. So, I went ahead and ordered the doubletake mirrors with the 3" arms. They sit as low as I want without sticking out past the bar ends.

But can you see what's behind you as well as before? If I have to move my head around to see past my elbow, that's kind of a negative.
The mirrors themselves are better as they are convex. This set up is certainly better than the cb300r mirrors. I'd have to put the OEM mirrors back on to compare to those which I won't do. Riding yesterday I was actually noting to myself how much visible area there was in the right mirror as I have that one positioned more outboard. Not the OEM vibrated badly but these seem quite clear is that regard. I'm 5'9" and 150lbs so I am not super wide.

The other benefit to this low mirror set up is that when I put my nearly non-existent short screen on when the warmer weather comes, the mirrors won't be sticking up higher than the screen which at that point becomes a major contributor to wind noise.
