I have a 2022 africa twin base model, I want to adjust the headlights, the manual says turn one adjuster one way and the other adjuster the other way, is one adjuster for left to right and the other one for up or down? can someone please give me a clear answer as I don't want to muck around it till I know for sure thanks guys.

There is an 10mm hex in the centre of the thumbwheel and I found it a lot easier to use a long reach socket and 1/4" ratchet to adjust rather than using the thumbwheels.
So upon further inspection I do have the thumb Wheels which I have adjusted as up and down... the two 8-mm bolts that are basically on the back of the headlight just under the screen are they for left and right???

In my recall the manual was wrong, both lights adjust turning in the same direction.
My bike as most seem to came from factory was pointing way up.
Just Follow this simple guidelines.

MOTORCYCLE HEADLIGHT AIMING

Getting a correctly aimed headlight is straightforward. You need to make
a couple of measurements and then aim the light at a flat wall, as follows:

With the bike on its wheels and you astride, have a helper measure the
distance from the floor to the center of the headlight lens.

Pick a flat wall where you can locate the bike so the headlight is 5.18mt
(17 feet) from the wall.
The headlight beam (on low beam) should be relatively flat on the top,
and may rise rather sharply at the right edge.
Place a horizontal mark on the wall 5.08cm (2 inches) lower
than the height of the center of the headlight.

Adjust the headlight vertically so that the flat top of the beam
is just up to the marked line.

I sit on the bike and adjust them till I am happy I don't worry about being technical

My 2023 ATAS has thumb screws for the headlights vertical adjustment, both turn the same way.
It also has two hex screws, these adjust the cornering lights vertical adjustment according to the manual.

Headlight adjustment was easy, cornering lights didn't need adjusted so can't comment.....yet! Because now I want to try 😂
