Hello everyone
Right now I am in Italy. I decided to buy this specific motorcycle to do a Trip from Italy to India with my girlfriend. My budget is quite short so I am looking for models from 1995. Here in Italy I can get XRV 750 from 1995-2002 from 2000-5000 eur, with 60K- 130K
Obviously my main concern is that the bike do the job and be reliable, I don't care if it looks pretty or not, I care only about the engine and chasis, .
So my question to my fellow forum member
Regarding KM.. is it 130K too many for this bike,
1995 bike is too old?
any other precaution that I use be aware?

Many thanks

Hellow @Relaxtrading, and welcome to the Africa Twin Forum. Yes, we probably should better indicate that the Forum specializes in 1000 cc+ incarnations of the AT.

Generally speaking though, 130,000 kms for a 750 cc twin cylinder motorcycle should undergo a detailed inspection. Maybe the engine is good enough (e.g. not burning oil, etc.), but there are other significant subcomponents privy to normal wear like the clutch, the suspension comes to mind easily, etc. I don't think 25 years is old for a motorcycle, especially any model from the early 1980s and later. It is a matter of care it has received that is important. Other issues is the availability of parts, but in 2020 that is usually resolved through the internet. I have ridden bikes older than 25 years and they ran reliably. It is a case-by-case situation for every bike.
