Replacement Battery

Hitting a lot of dead ends. Has anyone tried using an Antigravity ATZ-7? I am in the United States and the only direct lithium replacement I've found are either the stock Eliiy HY110, a Morobatt MPLX6.0-HP or a Shido LTZ8V Unfortunately, the last two, affordable options, are not currently available. The Antigravity battery looks to be just slightly too long, but maybe it will fit. Let me know if you have experience using this battery with your AT 1100 or can recommend another readily available lithium battery. Thank you so much!!!

Eliiy HY110 has a 120A CCA and 6 Ah rating, correct? Same ratings for the Motobatt. The Shido, as I understand it, is the replacement for the Eliiy battery. It has a lower Ah rating (4.5) which seems odd, but many websites list it as suitable for the CRF1100L.

I'm surprised that nobody has compiled a list yet of batteries suitable for the AT1100. Everyone seems to have the same question and we keep speculating.

I saw that for the Motobatt and not a bad option for the price when available. Sometimes there can be some questions about actual AH with lithium batteries. It’s listed around 1 Ib lighter than the HY110 so who knows. I really wouldn’t want to go less CA or AH than OEM but for the price you could buy 2 of the Motobatt.

Thank you! I have been emailing back and forth with a technician at Antigravity. Nice guy.

I'll add this to the list I'm compiling for batteries suitable for the AT1100.

I ordered a Shorai, but was also interested in one from Shido and another from JMT. Kind of cool to consider a battery made in Germany!!

I need to return the one from Antigravity as the tech said it wasn't suitable. My guess is the one you bought lacks a BMS or other protections and that's why he didn't recommend it to me. Cheers!!!

Is this proof in action that the manufacturers claims that a lithium battery will outperform and outlast tried and tested lead-acid batteries is a less than an honest opinion?

...and before those that have a preference for reassuringly expensive kit perpetuate the myths of the manufacturers, their comparisons are made between lithium vs conventional lead-acid, the point here being that AGM lead-acid batteries outperform and outlast conventional lead-acid batteries by a country mile. Also lithium batteries cannot be tested for CCA as prescribed by the various Standards (SAE, DIN, EN1, EN2 and JIS) and any CCA claims are purely speculative, manufacturer claimed equivalents.

Well my 2018 ATAS still has the same lithium battery from new so it's 7 years old with 50k miles on it so it is still working well.
Guessing it doesn't get close to freezing there or you have a heated garage. Cheers!
We're talking the 1100, not the 1000, correct?

Isn't the Ah rating of a battery an indication of the amperage (A) a battery should be able to provide for one hour (h)?

Having read the specifications for the 'Antigravity AG 1201' I have to ask how can it be rated as "16 Amp Hours (Pb Eq)/ 8Ah (Actual)"? I understand that (Pb Eq) refers to 'lead equivalent' but how in Ohm's universe can a battery be rated at 16Ah but only be equivalent to 8Ah?

Yes I'm talking about the 1100. I have a 2021 1100 and it is snug but it fits. I got it cause I wanted a battery with plenty of power reserve.
I was thinking about that battery, but tech from Antigravity recommended using a battery with a BMS on the AT. Not sure how important that feature is. Just had my BMS on the stock Eliiy. Cells are good, though!

BMS fried. Not sure how. Will talk with battery tech at local shop tomorrow to find out how that might have happened and if it's possible/affordable to replace the BMS.

My understanding is the Battery Management System (BMS) is just a switch, albeit a complicated switch, that isolates the battery cells in the event of over charging, depleted state of charge or some other undesirable battery malfunction. The documented fix is to connect the 'dead' lithium battery in parallel to another 12v battery and a lithium battery charger to wake up the BMS and re-charge the lithium battery.

The $64,000 question is why aren't lithium batteries and their battery management systems manufactured and supplied as separate units?
