Vibrating crash bars...how to avoid

Hello all, I have been reading vibrating crash bar threads for several hours. I have seen a thread on every brand someone complaining about their crash bars vibrating. It doesn't seem to matter which brand they all have the possibility to vibrate.

I also still havent found a conclusion on why some people's bars vibrate and others don't. Most people who's bars vibrate claim they retorqued the bars add rubber washers with no help. Others with the same brand will say they never feel vibrations. It's very frustrating when trying to purchase a set of bars.

Now I'm wondering which piece of crash bar causes vibrations the most? Is it the top bar? I wouldn't mind just buying a lower bar and engine crash protection for low speed drops. I don't plan on doing too much hard Enduro but i still like a small amount of protection for low speed or no speed drops.

Does anyone have any new insight into this topic? Which lower bar and engine bar has the lowest chance of vibrating?

( OR: just eat more junk food to pack thicker layer of Fat in your behind, that will absorb all the vibration :ROFLMAO: ... it's usually the skinny guys complaining )

Lmao  got that covered then, always had a bit of a booty.

Honestly though I have been wondering maybe some of these people complaining are in the upper age bracket and their last ride was a goldwing. The africa twin seems almost like a big dirt bike.

Im just genuinely confused how there is such a variety of opinions on weather the bars vibrate or not!

I noticed a bit more vibration after I put on my Outback Mototek bar set, but I attributed it to the increased structural bracing between the front and rear of the frame.
@Shadowjack did you get the full set or just the mid crash and engine bar set? I am thinking of going with just the mid and engine bar from outback and skipping the upper bars. I really like the look of the all white bars

I'm guessing this is directed at me.
Yes upper and lower altrider bars, without the optional brace between the two.
No, I didn't buy the AT for long distance touring, I buy shaft drive bikes for that purpose.
@Moto Vita yes it was directed at you I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how to reply and quote on here!

I am planning on using my AT for touring. I've never even sat on a shaft drive bike, I'm jealous! I think the twin will serve me a lot better for long rides than the super sport and naked bike that I'm usually riding.

That's interesting the R&G upper bars don't have any vibrations for you. I was going to say it seems like it's the upper bars that would cause handlebar vibrations the most. I wish I could just test out everyone's different bike/bar combo before I purchase some.

I went ahead and bought the outback mototech mid and engine guards, skipping the uppers for now. I will test the bike without them first then put one piece on at a time, test them individually and see if there is a difference. (y) can't wait to put them on I'm pumped. Although everyone seems to say they're a pain in the ass to install so kinda not looking forward to that
