There so many threads on this topic I really didn't want to start a new one. So here goes..
What is the hot setup for the 2020 AS? I have two major issues:
1 - with the stock screen (on the lowest adjuster position) the top of the screen is right in the middle of my vision. It needs to be shorter so i can comfortably see over it.
2 - wind buffeting around my shoulders and the side of my helmet. The air pocket seems to be very narrow and I believe the screen needs to be wider than stock. I know this has been widely discussed but many of the screens / solutions aren't (yet) available for the 2020 AS.
I'm 5"9 or 10, 32" inseam, seat adjusted to the low position. Any recommendations?

  • National Cycle Vstream N20067 Sport seems like a good choice but only comes in dark tint, the sport touring screen is taller than stock so probably wont work for me.
  • Not keen any solution that adds a 'lip' to the top of the screen
  • I had a Madstad on my previous bike (Vstrom) but they don't make a screen for Honda 2020 AS
  • Any experience with the Ermax sport or WRS intermedio screens?

Yeah - the Madstad would have been your solution. Staggering as it may seem the lack of intention to make one for the 2020 by Madstad was a major factor in me deciding to keep my crf1000 rather than upgrade to an 1100. However, that doesn;t help your situation. I'm 5'10 and a 31 inside leg, so I must have a longer body than you, and consequently didn;t have any problem with vision over the 1100 demo bike's screen when I rode it. But here's the thing. I can ride my crf1000 with the seat in the normal position, and in fact always rode my previous one with it in that position. So with your leg length being 1 inch longer you SHOULD be able to manage the 1100 with the seat in the normal position ... it may feel slightly awkward at first but it's doable.

Always a popular topic for many bikes for sure.

Thanks Mike. I did think of this and re-tried the seat on the normal position. I can barely touch my toes down, the thought of riding it in stop - go traffic is scary. On the low position i can solidly get one foot on the ground :)

I'm keen to hear peoples experiences with replacement screens on the 2020 ATAS so I can get some ideas before splashing out the cash

FYI. I ended up ordering a CLEAR WRS intermediate (sport) screen from Italy. $175 AUD delivered to Sydney. (It arrived via UPS in less than a week!). It is about 5 inches shorter and an inch wider on each side. I'm hoping it will help with the buffeting, I've set tomorrow aside to test it and will report back. Here are some (poor) pictures.

Hopefully the extra width takes some wind drag off the shoulders.

Sorry for getting into this topic again... So is there some general consensus, which windscreen works best for reducing turbulence and noise around the helmet? I am 5'10", seat in low position. I do not want to go into any "exotic" stuff and living in Canada the online shopping options are rather limited anyway.
Looking at TwistedThrottle.ca there are few options with free shipping: MRA touring screen, MRA vario touring screen, Givi D1144ST and Givi AF1144 are the screens I would consider. I used to have the Givi Airflow on my VStrom in the past and it was very good...?
Do you have do you have more information on this part?
