I use Deoxit for electrical connections. Won't hurt plastics and removes corrosion and protects. I have fixed many faulty switches using this.

I will say that this can be more than a temporary fix if the switch contacts just need a little cleaning.
AWESOME.
Thanks so much for the recommendation.
I drove it yesterday and it ran perfectly for the first 6 miles, then it started acting up. It immediately jumped into a false neutral and had zero acceleration. I pulled over and restarted it. It restarted into the false neutral, restarted it again multiple times, eventually it started in neutral and was able to put it into 'D'. I started driving it in DCT mode and it shifted up into 3rd gear before jumping into a false neutral again. I pulled over and it stalled. Tried multiple times restarting it, eventually it started up and after a series of multiple restarts, it went into gear, was able to ride it for a couple hundred feet then it popped back out into the false neutral and wouldn't restart. So I went through the same process of trying to restart eventually getting it to start up and rode it the rest of the way home.
Huntington Beach Honda said they'd take it in immediately and look at it, so I'm probably going to trailer it over there and see what they have to say. But beforehand, I might take the RH switch assembly apart and see if that has anything to do with it.
Thanks for the recommendations to all!
Greatly appreciated!

Must be frustrating but I’m sure it’s a simple fix if they find it. It must of been a Monday hangover bike.

Took it into the shop

I certainly hope so. I took it in to Chaparrel Motorsports in San Bernadino on Saturday, told the guy at the service desk what was going on with it. He told me he's never heard of that issue with these, that these AT's are bulletproof.
I told him, that's why I bought it. A friend of mine is a salesman at that store, said he sold one to a guy that takes his off road regularly up in Big Bear, has 25k on his AT, never had an issue with it. I guess your right, mine's probably a Monday morning hangover bike! dammit!

Any News on this one ?

It's been in the certified Honda dealership for the past 2 weeks. I called them this afternoon, they finally got to my bike yesterday and said that they are completely stumped what the issue is. Apparently they said the codes that it's throwing are indicative of a Clutch 2 EOP Sensor, and if that's not it, that it's a good possibility that it's the wiring harness or the PCM.
They're going to change the Clutch 2 EOP Sensor first, if that doesn't fix it, they'll move on to possibly the wiring harness and or the PCM.
Total bummer.

Thanks for the update, keep us posted, fingers crossed for you !

There once was a guy on Youtube who fell in the backcountry and crushed the plastic cover on the right side of the engine, and then his bike wouldn't shift out of low anymore. He had to ride 60 miles (in low) to a dealer for them to find a broken wire under the cover. Looking into it, this is where the engine oil pressure (EOP) sensors live. There is one for each clutch, to feed back to the ECU how hard the clutch is applied. If you have a code that says one is flaky, then it seems most likely it's what's causing your symptoms rather than getting into the harness or ECU. But they gave you a caveat because they can't know until it's changed.

Actually, he had added crash bars, although I forget what kind. A rock had slipped between the bars and the engine. Maybe a wider skid plate would have saved him, I don't know about that either.

Dang, always that one rock that has to get through.

Just saw that Honda America issue a recall for the 1100s with what seems very much like the same issue I experienced but on a 2017 1000 dct. Wonder if that's related?

Hey JohnnyUtah I was wondering if what happened with this issue of yours? How did everything resolve. The same thing is happening to my 2019 AT DCT I bought new from Huntington Beach Honda and it's freaking me out. So stressful.

Hello FunnyDavids, I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your bike. Luckily, I happened across this YouTube video - click this link:DCT shift cotrol motor cleaning (NC700) - ratio assy, motor assy, ratio control which saved me. My problem ended up being the RCM(Ratio Control Motor). As you're seated on the Africa Twin, it would be located below your left knee, around the middle of your shin. It's cylinder shaped, with a black cover on it. Basically, what I did was remove the protective 'half cover' for the RCM(two bolts), then the RCM itself( 3 bolts) remove the magnetic generator inside and use Deoxit electrical cleaner to clean out the little magnetic generator and cover. Then I reinstalled it. Total time took about 40 minutes. I drove it immediately afterwards for about 2 hours in 105 degree heat without any issues and haven't had any issues since. I hope it works for you as it did for me.
