This thread would have been useful if everyone posted the 4th through 11th digits. The first three are a given and the last sixth are the serial number for your particular bike. I'm trying to determine why my 2020 CRF1100 (non-Adventure, non-DCT) is coming up as a CRF1000. 4th through 11th digits are:
SD1013LK
where are you checking (where it comes up as CRF1000?) - probably a bad (non updated decoder..)
in your case, "SD1013LK" :
SD101 : your model variant - this is where we are trying to find out what all the "variants" across the world are..
3 : the check digit of your VIN (see wiki on VINs)
L : the year 2020 (see wiki on VINs)
K : most likely the plant descriptor for HONDA bikes
how about for CRF1100 models we start listing
digits 1-11 (important really are digits 4-8) followed by what model we have (manual/DCT, Standard/Adventure, with or without Electronic suspension) and what country we are..
here are some:
from JH2 SD09A 9 L K 00xxxx:
SD09A : Manual, Adventure, without Electronic suspension, GB
from JH2 SD09B 8 L K 00xxxx:
SD09B : DCT, Adventure, without Electronic suspension, GB
from JH2 SD08A 3 L K 00xxxx:
SD08A : Manual, Standard, without Electronic suspension, GB
for the CRF1100 there seem to be 4 "Versions" in the VIN, namely:
SD08A,
SD08B,
SD09A,
SD09B
best,
Stephan
