When you get too decrepit to ride two wheels would you consider a side car, or something else?

'Mjolnir' is already taken by my bike I'm afraid.... 😬
Some suggestions....

THE UNDERTAKER
THE DARK LORD
THE BLACK SHIP
GOLLUM
PIPSTONE TANDY
EXCALIBUR
BAT OUT OF HELL
PANZER
PANZERFAUST
ROMMEL'S UNDERPANTS
THE THIRD REICHMEISTER
THE HUBBLE TELESCOPE
JUMPING BILLY
MARIE CELESTE
UTHAR PENDRAGON
METHUSELAH
LEADING SEAMAN KILLICK
CHARON THE BOATMAN TO HADES
OZYMANDIAS
KING TUT
RUMPELSTILSKIN
HMS TITANIC
VALHALLA
THE ZIMBAT

Or....for the people who make the bikes but but didn't offer a com...

'Only in America'

I'd have suggested 'America' but Hitler called his armoured train that until our brothers entered the war..then he called it 'Brandenburg'. 😬

My coat is in the armoured train with SS runes on the collars...somewhere...but not really so don't write in...

"THE UNDERTAKER".

Seriously though...is this Com (Combination motorcycle and sidecar) actually history in the making and shouldn't some bike mag do an article on it? I think that this pioneer stuff is wonderful. When I was a kid in Liverpool everybody with kids, who could not afford a car, got around on coms but now it is a rarity. That somebody has got the courage and resources, to build something like this is wonderful and the growing com we witness is already a thing of beauty. How lovely to see something like this before I take the long dirt nap into oblivion. Please keep the photos and updates coming and I give you every encouragement.

I actually considered getting one when I was planning on getting back on bikes then I slapped some sense into myself :D
Urals, for all intents and purposes, are tractors. So they are likely unattractive to those who need speed and agility.

That said, there are aspects that are appealing, especially if headin' into retirement years.

Regarding Urals, I test drove one for about an hour, prior to rushing down the rabbit hole of this build. Wife said something to the effect of why not just buy a Ural, then decide if you really like sidecars, before spending a ton of money building something.

I contemplated it; and went to the local Ural dispensary. The lad there let me take a 2020 with fuel injection and 2 WD out for a run around the city. I was so glad he did. He helped me remove all desire to own one from my system.

There are many fans of them, and I get it. However, I couldn't live with the low power (46 hp) 750cc engine, harsh suspension, and crazy transmission that made a noise just like kicking a box of rocks with each shift. I had built a vision in my head of flying down rocky dirt roads in the AZ mountains with suspension that absorbs almost everything. (And keeping up with my friends on GSA's and AT's)

I also have grown to love the DCT on the AT, so the die was cast...

@Little Bill Daggett , thank you for the encouragement and MANY interesting and creative name suggestions! You made my day!

Now I am leaning towards "Black Betty", "Oh Black Betty!"

Some black Jam sounds good to me.

Thanks for the report on the Urals. You have removed any lingering desire in me to even test drive one of their Coms...although I probably still would just for the experience! Looking forward to the next update... 👨‍🎓 😬

Just a little farther along... still needs hack and rear wheels and a few dodads. (winch, front rack, light bar instead of round lights, rotopax mt, etc.)

You can see one of the other (3) 2021 Africa Twins in work in the background, upper left.
