Well I presumed Garmin were the makers, so them.
I know they have been in the game a long time, especially GPS and Sounders etc for marine but not really sure if their quality is always pretty good or sometimes a bit dodgy.

Garmin could just be the product integrators that wrap everything in a pretty plastic box with a touch interface that intermittently fails.

I bought a used CRF1100L (2021 model) from the dealer two months ago. All worked fine and I am enjoying every time I can ride it. Two days ago the TFT stopped responding. I went to my dealer for the "engine stall/ecu software rewrite" recall and told him about my problem. He will contact HONDA and get back to me.

Mine stopped responding to touch, dealer confirmed then put in a warranty claim and about a week later I took it in and got the replacement fitted. Took them about 3hrs as the tech had never done it before, wish they had let me help as it could have cut a big chunk of time off as I have removed most of the plastic many times before but... well I got good at sitting around instead :D

@Hood - due to your incredible patience, garage mechanic dude now has Honda Africa Twin "plastic experience" and they were able to bill Honda for the effort.

My HONDA dealer exchanged the complete display unit within the warranty period. So I'm happy and hope the problem doesn't resurface in the future.

a month ago the touchscreen became unresponding. I am out of warranty but my dealer is trying for "goodwill". after 1-1.30 hours of riding the touch screen works again. I suppose that the temperature of the screen is higher and it works again.

Just saw this thread, mine has been unresponsive several times this month. I just assumed it was the cold temps. Now I will have to pay closer attention to this issue.

Hello Groznick, was the touch screen replacement covered under the manufacturer's warranty or the extended warranty that you had? I just called Honda, and they don't cover the touch screens under the manufacturer warranty.
I have extended warranty with "Dealers Alliance'" for 60 months and they say "Digital Dash" is only covered for touring bikes like the Goldwing.
Although notheing is wrong with my touch screen but I was looking into the plan details and touch screen coverage caught my eye and I did some digging around.

Also I made a mistake of purchasing 60 month extended overage at time of bike purchase, which meant I paid for first 12 months of coverage even when had the Honda coverage with it. The dealership stuck it to me on this one, hopefully others don't make this mistake. ..Only buy extended coverage once you are nearing the end of 12 month manufacturers warranty.

I faced the same problem, TFT screen does not respond to touch. After warming up with a hair dryer, the problem disappears. I don't know if it will happen again. The bike has been sitting in a cold garage all winter. I also saw a spot under the display, similar to water ingress. The display is intact, there has never been any mechanical damage to it, but the stain confuses me. Does anyone know if there is a protective film on the screen from the factory that can give such an effect? If the film comes from the factory, is it possible to change it somehow?

The protective film from the factory is much bigger than the screen and you couldn't ride with it as it would rip off in the wind. There is a protector supplied but most dealers don't fit them as they are hard to put on without bubbles.
