Possibly moisture in there and it froze.
Yes, it can be moisture after washing the motorcycle, before putting it into long-term storage. But I was surprised how it could appear there, because the appearance is outside the target, there are no mechanical damages to the glass. He was not subjected to any influence. On Saturday I'm going to the dealer, I wonder what he will say about this, whether this will be a warranty case. There is no ice there, because I warmed its location for a long time. The display started working after that, but the stain did not evaporate

It should be sealed so that moisture can't enter so if it was that then I would think it should be a warranty replacement, hopefully things go well for you at the dealers.

@Dmitry84 It is difficult to deduct if there is an edge for a possible OEM screen Film. Those are like a thin plastic.
Try to see if there is an edge between the plastic frame and the screen layer, if you can lift and peel away a damaged plastic film protector.
If successful, you can install a glass type as @Hood as done.
Myself also installed a glass one.

I faced the same problem, TFT screen does not respond to touch. After warming up with a hair dryer, the problem disappears. I don't know if it will happen again. The bike has been sitting in a cold garage all winter. I also saw a spot under the display, similar to water ingress. The display is intact, there has never been any mechanical damage to it, but the stain confuses me. Does anyone know if there is a protective film on the screen from the factory that can give such an effect? If the film comes from the factory, is it possible to change it somehow? Welcome @Dmitry84.

Feel free to introduce yourself at the New Member Introductions area of the Forum.

Hi Folks.

Faced with the same problem, touch screen doesn't respond, tried to heat it with a hair dryer for a few minutes, doesn't work. @Dmitry84 how long you did it?
Left my bike in a warm parking lot, will see. Local dealer recommend me to charge my battery to 100%, however I don't have a special charger for that.I didn't recharge my battery after the winter, on idle without engine running it shows 13v, with running engine 14.4v, I don't think that the problem is in a battery

Doesn't sound like the battery @Kosti.

Do you need to touch the screen?

Maybe Honda will do a recall. Stay tuned with what the Forum might learn - hopefully soon.

Welcome aboard.
Yes I do, it's quite handy to use touchscreen. For now only buttons(

Surprise surprise, touchscreen started to work after the night in a warm parking lot.

I can’t understand, is the film glued like that or does the body have double edges? View attachment 80962

Hi Dmitry84, my screen have the same problem as yours. I installed the protective oem protective film which dealership gave me 2 years ago. After 2 years some strange spots appears like yours. So I bought a glass protective film and in a few days Im going to peel of the original film and install the glass one. Hope the film is the reason of the spots. I'll inform you. Finger cross.

So after reading about all the problems, I realized I've never used the touch screen. So I tried it yesterday, it doesn't work! I wonder how long it has been bad? Could have been defective from the start for all I know. I'm sure that's a nice hit to resale if I wanted to sell it.

I tried my touch screen this week, touch is dead. 2020 model with 31000km... I dont use touch so I dont know when it stopped working, but Im gonna write claim this week to Honda. Thanks to our laws it should be replaced even when warranty is long gone... Buuuut I have my doubts its gonna be a fight :D

Uhm.... Update. I sent a claim to Honda and they said its something they are working on. They promised to be in touch when they have solution. They talked about it hopefully being software related. I was sceptical about software problem and I was pretty sure it is hardware related. Until today!

Fast forward couple weeks from my claim and today when I had my bike warming up I received phone call, I rarely do while riding.
I have my phone paired to bike, and com-system to my phone, not to bike so I cant adjust volume with bike (because it sucks).
Why I mention this is because when I, for some reason, knowing well that the screen is broken, pressed red button on the screen to end the call (might be just muscle memory).
IT WORKED!
Fcking screen works again, every spot works. I can calibrate it, it seems to work no matter how many times I turn the bike off. Of course this is something I need to keep an eye out.
But it really seems to be a software problem.
Why I mentioned phone and com-system pairing. I wonder if it has something to do with that. Phone communications changing screen behaviour and its get stuck to somewhere between modes or something. This is just speculation, but its something to start from...

I wonder when it stops again, but atm its just like when it was brand new. :D

Edit, here is video I sent Honda. As you can see, touchscreen was totally out of touch :D

Hello everyone!

Not the best news i just got from my Honda dealer, my tft screen become irresponsive to touch and the solution will be replacing it. has this happen to anyone?
I dont see anything out of the ordinary with the screen it self and it works fine with the button cluster, very strange behaviour.
Hi, my Son has this problem as well. Has just taken it to Honda dealer, it's a known fault and will be replaced under warranty. Hope this helps.

Yes exactly the same mine just started to become unresponsive to touch randomly switching rider modes etc. Will be replacing under warranty my dealer said they had received a bulletin from Honda ref screens also read somewhere new ones have a different part no !

I just received a letter from Honda Australia advising that the warranty on my TFT has been extended to 10 years to cover it against failure and that the screen will be replaced free of charge within this time. Good timing really as I noticed the screen has stopped responding now the weather has gotten colder. Just hoping I don't have any hassle with the dealership now that the bike is in the UK.
